Andri Bode

Namaskaram! I am a traditional Hatha yoga teacher from Sadhaka Yoga, my name is Andri. The practices I share are simple, easy and relaxing. EVERYONE is welcome to my classes,
regardless of experience, ability, age, etc. The name Sadhaka comes from Sanskrit, which means a person who finds within themselves the willingness to dedicate themselves to yoga practice.
In our classes, dedication means directing absolute attention to what is being experienced in the moment and sinking into complete relaxation at the same time. Simple yoga postures and breathing practices are designed, on the one hand, to make the situation and space you are in perceptibly simple. So simple that worrying about someone’s opinion, solving something, or right or wrong does not even come to mind.
Most of the practices are performed with closed eyes and slowly, opening the opportunity for a meditative state. Sadhaka yoga practices should not be seen as physical training, but as an opportunity to discover the depth of your inner world.
My desire and intention as a yoga teacher is to help you find happiness in simply being yourself, whatever your situation. I share with you the knowledge and skills to make your life a deeply meaningful and enjoyable experience for yourself, in this wonderful human embodiment, on this wonderful planet.
We can’t always choose the situations we find ourselves in, but we can always choose how we are. That is our practice.

Hatha Yoga

Hatha yoga is a form of yoga that involves physical postures, breathing techniques, and total relaxation to improve physical and mental well-being. It is a holistic practice that aims to create balance in body and mind. Traditional Hatha yoga is the oldest type of physical yoga, dating back more than 6,000 years. This is where different teachers got their ideas to create new forms of physical yoga that we are also familiar with (Vinyasa, Yin, Power, Hot, Bikram, etc.).

The word “Hatha” is derived from two Sanskrit words “Ha” and “Tha” which mean sun and moon. The practice of Hatha yoga is based on finding a balance of these two energies in the body to achieve a state of harmony – and balance. Solar energy is associated with activity, while lunar energy is associated with calmness and relaxation.
The practice of Hatha yoga includes 84 asanas, the effects of which have been proven and are constantly being further studied in Ashrams (spiritual centers in India). The poses are designed to stretch and strengthen different parts of the body. There are usually several breaths in the posture and the postures are performed slowly and mindfully, with a focus on proper alignment and breath control. For example, some of the most common Hatha yoga poses are cobra, warrior, tree, and child pose. In addition, Hatha yoga also includes various breathing techniques, or pranayamas, which help to balance the flow of energy in the body and improve shallow breathing. Some of the most common pranayama in Hatha yoga are ujjayi and kapalbhati and nadi shodhana (alternating breathing through both nostrils).

The practice of Hatha yoga also includes various mudras, i.e. positions of the hands, eyes or body to direct energies, bandhas, or body locks, and relaxation techniques that help calm the mind and reduce stress and anxiety. All components are necessary, but the most important of them is relaxation. During relaxation, the mind is focused on a specific object, such as breathing. If your mind wanders, try to bring your attention back to the breath without being judgmental.

One of the benefits of practicing Hatha yoga is improved physical health. Regular practice develops the body’s flexibility, strength and balance, as well as improves the cardiovascular system, nervous system and breathing. In addition, it helps reduce tension and inflammation in the body and strengthen the immune system. Thanks to the effect of Hatha yoga practice, the quality of our sleep also improves and the body’s ability to resist diseases increases. It also has a huge impact on our mental health. Practicing yoga helps reduce stress, anxiety and depression, increases self-awareness and gives an inner feeling of happiness and contentment. The practice of Hatha yoga brings the practitioner to spiritual values, teaches forgiveness, compassion and unconditional love.

In summary, Hatha yoga is a very powerful and holistic practice that creates awareness of the body through postures and breathing. In addition, it helps bring physical, mental and emotional well-being. Regardless of whether you are a beginner or an experienced yoga practitioner, incorporating Hatha yoga into your daily routine will help you achieve greater balance, harmony and vitality in your life.
